Jerry Adams is a member of the Nisga’a Nation from New Aiyansh, B.C. – a community along the Nass River north of Terrace, B.C. He has been married to his wife, Linda, for 50 years and has 3 adult children. Jerry holds degrees in Child & Youth Care and Social Work, and has had a long career in social services. He has worked with vulnerable youth as a Child Care Counselor, a Street Outreach Worker, a Social Worker, and as Executive Director of Urban Native Youth Association where he developed 18 different programs for at-risk First Nations youth. Jerry also worked in corrections, as Executive Director of Circle of Eagles Lodge Society, providing halfway houses for Indigenous people reintegrating into the community from federal prisons. Jerry has served on numerous Boards of Directors, including a term on the Board of the Vancouver Police Department, a board member of ACCESS Society and Urban Spirit Foundation. Jerry has been a parishioner of St. James’ Church for 47 years and was Aboriginal Justice Coordinator for the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster.
