Linda

Linda Adams is an adopted member of the Killer Whale clan of the Nisga’a Nation. Her traditional name is Sdox Makskw. She has been married to Jerry for 50 years, and they have 3 children.

Linda has a degree in psychology and social work from the University of Victoria. She worked for 17 years as Administrator of the Downtown Eastside Youth Activities Society which pioneered outreach services to at-risk youth on the streets of inner-city Vancouver. She then worked as Office Manager at St. James’ Anglican Church located in the heart of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Linda is a founding member and Chair of the Coming Home Society, an Anglican Church initiative which supports programs designed and run by the Aboriginal community to address the legacy of Canada’s Residential School system. She has also served on the national Anglican Healing Fund committee, which provides grants to Aboriginal projects across the country for language and cultural recovery. Linda has served on several other Boards of Directors, and has received the Order of the Diocese of New Westminster for her service to the diocese.
