My name is Sonia Cerpa.

I am from Santiago, Chile. I immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba and was faced with a new life including learning a new language and adapting to the Canadian culture.

In Canada I had to revalidate my certification by taking college courses which took time. I wanted to work on my career which is my passion and love very much.

In 1984 I got my School Age Child Care Certificate at Red River College, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Certificate in Childcare Special Education at St. Amant Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

I have worked with Warriors Against Violence for 23 years. My first job moving to Vancouver was with Kiwassa Neighbourhood House.
